Perhaps you are looking for a compact sedan and are ready to choose between the 2018 Nissan Sentra and the 2018 Honda Civic. Both sedans offer similar fuel economy, space and power, but allow us to list a few features the Sentra has that the Civic does not have.
The 2018 Sentra offers two engine options (depending on the trim level you choose): the 1.8-L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that delivers 124 HP and 125 lb.-ft. of torque and the 1.6-L Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG™) turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 188 HP and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2018 Civic does not feature a DIG™ engine.
Drive seamlessly without worrying about shifting between gears with the availalbe Xtronic® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This type of transmission is different from a traditional 5- 6- or 7- speed transmission in that it has less moving parts causing less wear and tear and friction within the transmission since there is no “shifting” between gears. Expect this transmission to work efficiently for years to come.
For those with a need for speed and quick handling, consider the Sentra NISMO® model, equipped with the 1.6-L DIG™ engine. Nissan NISMO® car models were built for a racetrack. They provide an exhilarating driving experience. The name NISMO® derives from Nissan Motorsport, so you can expect it performs like a sportscar. The 2018 Honda Civic does not feature a model with this capability.
NissanConnect®1 is a voice-responsive technology that allows you to connect your compatible smart phone to make phone calls, send and receive text messages and control your music. You won’t find NissanConnect® in the Honda Civic. The Sentra goes one step further with Siri® Eyes Free, which allows you to access Siri by hitting a button on your steering wheel to use Siri as your personal assistant while you’re driving. Use NissanConnect® to remotely start your car, set up emergency preparedness alerts, speed alerts, curfew alerts and more!
Since you have this distraction-free and hands-free system set up, you will be able to better pay attention to the road. However, Nissan Intelligent Mobility™2 can provide you some back up to anything unexpected. These features include:
- Adaptive Cruise Control3
- Automatic Emergency Braking4
- Blind Spot Warning5
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert6
If these features are what you’re looking for in your new car, then visit Sheridan Nissan to learn more about the 2018 Sentra and take a test drive!
