Nissan ProPILOT Assist

November 28th, 2018 by

An integral extension of Nissan Intelligent Mobility™, Nissan ProPILOT Assist further assists (it does not replace—always pay attention to your surroundings while driving) the Nissan driver. First introduced in the United States in the 2018 Nissan Rogue, Nissan ProPILOT Assist is now an available feature within the 2019 Nissan LEAF. Both the 2018 Nissan Rogue and the 2019 Nissan LEAF are available at Sheridan Nissan. Go See Joe to take a test drive and see ProPILOT Assist in action.

Using a front radar sensor and a front camera located behind the rearview mirror, Nissan ProPILOT Assist combines Nissan’s Intelligent Cruise Control with its Steering Assist technologies to make steering, braking and accelerating seamless actions.

Using the button on the steering wheel to engage the system, the driver chooses their speed and following distance. The system then will provide the driver alerts to stay centered in the lane, and even will begin to brake the car if it cannot detect the driver’s hand(s) on the wheel.

Features include:

  • Combines steering, accelerator and braking to help ease driver workload in highway traffic and long commutes.
  • Drivers can activate and deactivate the ProPILOT Assist system using a switch on the steering wheel.
  • When activated, ProPILOT Assist helps controls the distance between your car and the preceding car. It also helps keep the car in the middle of the highway lane by reading lane markers and providing small steering inputs.
  • Highlights of ProPILOT Assist technology include speed control, lane centering and brake assist.
