While the 2019 Honda Accord is similar in size and cost, the 2019 Nissan Altima is the right choice when it comes to choosing between the two.
Never worry about rain, snow and other treacherous road conditions with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. If you prefer sedans to SUVs and need AWD, look no further than the 2019 Nissan Altima. This is the first Nissan sedan to be equipped with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, which constantly evaluates the road conditions and automatically sends power to the wheels that need the most traction while driving. The 2019 Honda Accord does not offer Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
The Nissan Altima comes equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility™ (not available in the 2019 Honda Accord), providing the Nissan driver with smart technology that monitors the road and provides the driver with back up as needed. Among these features are Intelligent Forward Collision Warming and Rear Automatic Braking, neither of which are offered in the 2019 Honda Accord. Both of these features uses cameras and sensors placed around the Altima to prevent any potential collisions.
NissanConnect® allows you to connect your phone to your Nissan and create security and other alerts, find gas stations along your route, use the navigation system and use apps on your phone like Spotify, Pandora and Apple Music. This is not available in the Honda Accord. Additionally, Apple CarPlay™ compatibility is standard in the 2019 Altima, but comes at an additional cost in the 2019 Accord.
The 2019 Nissan Altima’s VC-Turbo™ engine delivers varying HP and torque depending on the fuel used. When using 93-octane fuel, the Altima delivers 248 HP and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. When using 87-octane fuel, the Altima delivers 236 HP and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. A 2.5-L DIG engine is also available in the 2019 Nissan Altima and delivers 188 HP and 180 lb.-ft. of torque. The VC Turbo Engine maximizes power and efficiency without sacrificing fuel economy and is not available in the 2019 Honda Accord.
The 2019 Nissan Altima engine is paired with an XTRONIC® CVT, which is not available in the 2019 Honda Accord. This type of transmission provides better efficiency and allows you drive more seamlessly than a conventional automatic transmission would. Additionally, a CVT has less moving parts, and will experience less wear and tear over time.
