July 20th, 2018 by

Welcome to Sheridan Nissan, your premier Nissan dealer in New Castle, DE. We offer a great selection, from sedans to SUVs to trucks, so we guarantee you’ll find the right vehicle for you.

The 2018 Nissan Armada is an excellent full-sized SUV, perfect for the whole family. Compared to the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, the Armada is equipped with many more features, making it the better choice.

Power and Performance

The Armada’s Endurance® 5.6L V8 engine delivers 390 hp and 394 lbs.-ft. of torque while the comparable 5.3L V8 engine in the Tahoe delivers 355 hp and 383 lbs.-ft. of torque. According to Car and Driver, the Armada takes 5.9 seconds to go from 0-60 mph, while the Tahoe takes 7.1 seconds. The Nissan is more powerful and faster, with a top speed of 133 mph recorded (113 mph in the Tahoe).

The Armada provides better road handling, as it is equipped with both a front and rear independent suspension and uses air springs for a smoother ride, while the Tahoe does not offer a front independent suspension, and in the rear, uses coil springs. The Armada also has front and rear stabilizer bars. Again, the Tahoe only has a front one, so the Armada gives you more security when turning in tight corners. When the terrain gets rough, the Armada has a ground clearance of 9.1”, 1.2” more than the Tahoe, to help ensure you won’t hit any bumps on the road.

Heading away for the weekend with a boat or trailer? The Armada can confidently tow 8,500 lbs., much more than the Tahoe’s 6,400 lbs.

Safety and Technology

Nissan Intelligent Mobility™ provide assistance to the driver to guarantee the safest and most confident driving. You won’t find some of these features in the Tahoe, such as the Intelligent Rearview Mirror1, which turns your rearview mirror into a camera screen so you can get a clear picture of what’s behind you. Other features include:

  • Intelligent Cruise Control with Intelligent Distance Control2,3 (not available in the Tahoe)
  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking4
  • Lane Departure Warning with Intelligent Lane Intervention5
  • Blind Spot Warning and Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention6
  • Intelligent Around View® Monitor7 (only a rearview monitor in the Tahoe)
  • Intelligent Back-Up Intervention8

Additionally, in the event of a rear-end collision, to mitigate head and neck injuries, the Armada comes standard with Active Head Restraints for the driver and front passenger headrests. The headrests move forward during the crash to protect the passengers from whiplash. The Tahoe does not offer this.

The available NissanConnect® powered by SiriusXM® you can use all the apps on your phone and make phone calls or send texts with your compatible smartphone. Listen to all your favorite songs through 13 Bose® speakers.

For added convenience, you are able to remotely lower your windows and start your car with the available Nissan Intelligent Key.

Power, convenience and style come standard on the 2018 Nissan Armada. If you find this is the right SUV for you, go see Joe at Sheridan Nissan to take a test drive today! We are more than happy to help you find the right car for you!
