Welcome to Sheridan Nissan! We’re happy to help you drive home in the car of your dreams. As you research your options among mid-sized sedans, consider the 2018 Nissan Altima. Compared to the 2018 Kia Optima, it delivers more power and offers many more features. Stop by Sheridan Nissan today to take one for a test drive.

Technology

NissanConnect® brings all the applications on your phone with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility2 to the Altima’s 7” color touchscreen. Hear all of your favorite music with the 9-speaker Bose® Premium Audio System, which you won’t find in the Kia Optima. With the Nissan Navigation System3, you will get audible turn-by-turn directions with your map displayed on the screen.

NissanConnect® uses a GPS response system that will locate you in the event of a collision and deployed airbags, contact emergency services and send them to help. This also helps if your Altima has been stolen. The Optima does not have this feature.

This car comes available with the Nissan Intelligent Key®, which allows you to remotely lower your windows and start your car.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility™ lets you move with confidence by providing you with the back-up you need:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking4
  • Intelligent Cruise Control5
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert6
  • Blind Spot Warning7

Power

The available 3.6L V6 engine in the Altima delivers 270 hp, proving more powerful than the Optima’s 2.4L 4-cylinder engine that delivers 245 hp. The Altima is equipped with an Xtronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

This transmission has less moving parts, and is likely to experience less wear and tear over time, unlike the 6-speed automatic transmission in the Optima.

The Altima fares better on gas mileage as well, getting 27 mph city/38 mph highway (compared to 25 mph city/36 mph highway in the Optima). You’ll save on fuel costs over time.

Comfort

With seating for 5, the Altima has an advantage on headroom in both the front and the rear seats than in the Optima. The driver and front passenger can also set their own climate with Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control, so everyone is always comfortable. The Optima just has standard air conditioning.
