Under the Frontier's Hood
The workhorse of a truck comes with two engine options: a 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine rated at 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, or a 2.5-liter inline with 152-horsepower and 4-cylinder engine available to the King Cab only. Both can have a 5-speed manual on the 4-cylinder King Cab, 6-speed manual on the V6 Crew Cab, or 5-speed automatic transmission. There is hill start assist and hill descent control features available on all the V6 Frontier SV, SL, PRO-4X 4x4 automatic transmission-equipped models. The hill start assist allows the driver to stop on an incline, release the brake pedal, and not roll back while the driver accelerates for a smooth start. The hill descent control allows the truck to go slow down the hill without constantly stepping on the brake. The Frontier has a range of wheels and tires available like 16-inch off-road style with 265/75R16 white letter All-Terrain tires and 18-inch wheels with 265/60R18 tires. The maximum amount that can be towed is up to 6,710 pounds.
Design of Nissan Frontier
The Frontier has the body styles King Cab and Crew Cab that come in 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrain configurations. There are five trim levels: Frontier S (4-cylinder and V6), SV, PRO-4X (4x4 only), Desert Runner (4x2 V6 only) and SL (Crew Cab V6 only). The design of the Frontier is the classic Nissan truck style with large bumpers, angled strut grille, stamped-steel geometric fender flares, and a short front and rear overhangs. The Crew Cab in the SV and SL trim level have long beds available. It is 13 inches longer than the standard bed on the Crew Cab. You can also get a high-utility bed that has factory-applied spray on bed liner and the Utili-track Channel System on both cab styles. The exterior of the truck has rear privacy glass, tinted front windows, and a hitch ball provision on the rear bumper. The color options are Forged Copper, Gun Metallic, Magnetic Black, Glacier White, Cayenne Red, Brilliant Silver, Lava Red and Arctic Blue Metallic. The two styles have large rear doors to make it easier to access the rear seating and cargo area. There are so many accessories you can add like bed dividers, sliding cargo trays and modular storage units.
