New 2017 Nissan Armada at Sheridan Nissan for New Castle, DE
The Nissan Armada returns for 2017 after a year off, and it's with a full redesign, based on the popular 'Patrol' line of vehicles that even the United Nations uses in its fleet across the globe. This 8-passenger SUV has a stronger V8 engine inside, plus interior quality additions and exterior sculptural changes. It also gains several class-exclusive safety features, like the tech-savvy Moving Object Detection (MOD) and has a 20 percent increase in twisted body stiffness compared to the last version. Sheridan Nissan can show you all around an Armada, head on over after reading this at your next best opportunity! Let's go a bit further in to the design and make-up of this formidable vehicle!
Under the Armada's Hood
A new 7-speed automatic transmission is put with either an available 4-wheel-drive system (with low range) or a rear-wheel drive. All 2017 Nissan Armada models are driven by a new 5.6-liter 'Endurance' V8 engine that makes 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque. Standard issue is hill-start assist, a limited-slip differential, and a strong 'tow' mode. On that point, when the vehicle is correctly equipped, the 2017 Armada can tow up to 8,500 pounds for both 4WD and 2WD models. The new Direct Injection Gas (DIG) system helps fuel economy, the Multi-Control Valve (MCV) regulates the engine temperature, and the (VVEL) Variable Valve Event & Lift technology provides the best performance possible with sharper responses to driver input. Nissan has truly put in the work to engineer this vehicle for optimal performance. The able to be added 'All-Mode' 4WD system works with Auto/4H/4LO modes, an electronically controlled part-time transfer case and a 2.70:1 4LO gear ratio, for those of you who like to know more of the exact specifications for your capability adventures!
Design of Nissan Armada
The 2017 Nissan Armada is built upon a body-on-frame chassis. Standard technology features include Bluetooth connectivity, an 8-inch touchscreen interface, a navigation system, and a 13-speaker Bose audio system with a CD player, satellite radio, an auxiliary audio jack and a USB media player interface. The 2017 Nissan Armada is available in SV, SL and Platinum models, any of which can be either 2WD or 4WD. The Platinum edition, by the way, can be comfortably outfitted with captain's chairs and a center console, making the passenger capacity a still impressive seven count. The standard SV trim arrives with 18-inch alloy wheels, a full-size spare tire, side steps, roof rails, a rearview camera, a reclining second-row bench split seat and a 60/40-split third-row seat. The SL trim level includes the Driver package plus 20-inch wheels, leather upholstery, remote engine start, a power-adjustable steering wheel and a complex, sky-view 360-degree parking camera with a moving-object warning alert. The SL gains access to an available sunroof and the Technology package. The Platinum incorporates the SL model's standard items, then adds separate 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels (machine-faced with a tinted clear-coat), a blind-spot intervention system, a heated steering wheel, two 7-inch displays mounted onto headrests, a DVD player and double USB ports. Overall cargo volume is best-in-class with 95.4 cubic feet total. That breaks down to a whopping 49.9 cubic feet behind the second row, and 16.5 cubic feet behind the third row.

There's a lot of safety involved in this SUV and you will certainly be pleasantly surprised to try it out. Responsive braking is done with 4-wheel disc brakes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) that also utilizes electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. Standard safety features include anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and a rearview camera. A blind-spot monitoring system, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking for both frontal and rear collisions are optional on the SL and standard on the Platinum. The Platinum also comes standard with blind-spot intervention and lane departure warning and intervention systems. The Nissan Advanced Air-Bag System (AABS) enters the equation as well with dual-stage front supplemental airbags, roof-mounted curtain supplemental air bags, front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags, seat belt sensors and front occupant classification sensors, a rollover sensor for side-impact and rollover head protection in all three rows, and front seat Active Head Restraints to minimize or eliminate the potential effects of whiplash.
